What Did the Ancients Know That Your Doctor Doesn't?

Imagine if the greatest healers from ancient Egypt, Greece, India, China, and the Islamic Golden Age were all sitting around the same table.

They spoke different languages.

They lived centuries apart.

And yet, they shared one extraordinary belief:

Health begins when we remember that we are whole.

In this week's episode of Master Stress with Dr S, I begin a new chapter in the When Science Met Soul series by exploring the foundations of the world's great healing traditions—and the surprising wisdom they all have in common.

This isn't about choosing ancient medicine over modern medicine.

Modern medicine has transformed the way we treat trauma, infection, and acute illness, and for that I'm deeply grateful.

But when it comes to chronic stress, burnout, and long-term health, these ancient traditions invite us to ask a different question.

Instead of asking,

"What's wrong with this person?"

They asked,

"What has become out of balance?"

Together, we'll explore how different healing traditions understood the relationship between the body, mind, and soul, why they believed the body has an innate capacity to heal, and how many of these ideas are finding new support through modern science.

Because sometimes progress isn't about abandoning the past.

It's about remembering the wisdom that still has something to teach us.
