what if “normal for your age” isn’t good enough?

what if “normal for your age” isn’t good enough?

At some point, many of us hear the same reassuring words from a doctor:

“Your results are normal for your age.”

But what if normal isn't the same as healthy?

What if feeling tired, gaining weight, losing mental sharpness, feeling anxious, or simply not feeling like yourself isn't something you should automatically accept as part of getting older?

In the first episode of my new longevity series on Master Stress with Dr S, I sit down with Dr Jeff Gladden, a cardiologist who experienced this reality himself.

Despite being told his labs were normal, he was struggling with fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, depression, and weight gain in his 50s.

Instead of accepting it as inevitable ageing, he started asking a different question:

“How good can I be?”

That question ultimately led him beyond conventional sick care and into a deeper exploration of functional and integrative medicine, hormones, thyroid function, neurotransmitters, meditation, and the biology of ageing.

But this conversation isn't simply about living longer.

It's about how we want to live while we're here.

Dr Gladden shares his five-circle approach to longevity, bringing together:

• life energy and purpose

• the biology of ageing

• health and performance

• and the environments that shape us

Because longevity isn't just about adding years to your life.

It's about creating a life you actually want to keep living.
